I’ll admit it — I, too, have jumped on the Pilates wave.
Once a devoted flowy warrior, moving from sun salutations to endless chaturangas, I’ve found myself fully embracing my new era: Pilates Princess
What started as the occasional reformer class “just to try it” quickly turned into something I genuinely love. So much so, in fact, that I went ahead and got certified and now teach pilates myself. When something lands that deeply in my body, I tend to follow it all the way.
I’ll always love a sweaty mat flow — the kind that leaves you glowing and grounded. But lately, my chaturangas have softened into steady pulses, controlled holds, and that unmistakable reformer shake that humbles you (while making you stronger) in the best way.
The reformer asks for presence. For patience. For control.
It’s not loud or rushed — and yet, it’s incredibly powerful.
Teaching on the reformer has only deepened my appreciation for the practice. There’s something magical about watching small, intentional movements build strength over time. Whether I’m cueing a class or taking one myself, it feels like a graceful balance between softness and strength.
And of course, no Pilates princess moment is complete without the accessories.
